About the position

As an Amazon Sortation Center Warehouse Associate, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team responsible for the initial phase of the delivery process. This fast-paced role involves working in a sortation center where you will sort, scan, and stack packages on pallets, ensuring that customer orders are prepared for timely delivery. The position offers flexibility, allowing you to choose shifts that best fit your schedule, with the option to adjust your hours as needed in the future. Most shifts are part-time, providing you with control over your work-life balance. Your daily responsibilities will include receiving and sorting inventory, preparing customer orders for delivery, and utilizing technology such as scanners, computers, and handheld printers.

 

Physical demands of the job require you to lift packages weighing up to 49 pounds and engage in various movements such as standing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching. You may also need to navigate stairs and work at heights of up to 40 feet on a mezzanine, depending on the specific tasks assigned. At Amazon, safety is a top priority. You will be provided with protective gear and will participate in daily safety discussions with your team. The work environment includes moving machinery, such as order pickers and forklifts, and can be noisy at times, with hearing protection available if needed. The temperature in the warehouse can vary, and you will be expected to dress comfortably while adhering to safety guidelines, including wearing closed-toe shoes and, in some cases, protective footwear.

  • Receive and sort inventory
  • Get customer orders ready for delivery
  • Use technology like scanners, computers, and handheld printers
  • Lift packages up to 49 pounds
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
  • Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around
  • Go up and down stairs (where applicable)
